IHVCB-UI is a foundation and an Indonesian legal entity, established in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 9 January 2004, by the University of Indonesia, which is one of the oldest universities in Indonesia, with a Medical Faculty established during the Dutch colonial period, and 12 other various Faculties.
The deed of establishment of IHVCB-UI was ratified by the Minister of Justice & Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia on 19 February 2004 and subsequently, the Articles of Association of IHVCB-UI were published in Supplement No. 57 of the Indonesian Official Gazette No. 20 dated 9 March 2004.
Article 2 of the Articles of Association of IHVCB-UI provides that the objectives and purposes of IHVCB-UI are to engage in social and humanitarian activities, with the objective to support the progress in research, education and humanity in Indonesia generally. To achieve such objectives, IHVCB-UI will be engaged in, among other things, research on AIDS, infectious diseases and cancer found in Indonesia.
